The Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) has expressed their congratulations to the Flying Eagles of Nigeria for picking one of the four 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup tickets after defeating Niger Republic 1-0 at the ongoing U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Flying Eagles had won two matches and drew one to top Group A with 7 points.
FIFA on their twitter handle said “The Flying Eagles are headed to this year’s #U20WC Poland 2019!
They’ve finished top of Group A at #TotalAFCONU20 and reached the knockout stage,” read the tweet.
Nigeria and South Africa qualified from group A on Friday for the championship after winning their respective last group matches.
While South Africa will slug it with Group B winner, Senegal next Wednesday in the semis, Nigeria will face the runners up in Group B also on Wednesday at 4:30 pm.
