Aisha Ahmad, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) deputy governor is so young you would have to conclude she is the youngest person to be appointed to that position and at the same time, she is so experienced you cannot but admire her resume.
Known at home as Aisha Ahmad Nee Ndanusa, she was Born to the family of Alhaji Umaru Ndanusa, former Chairman Peugeot Nigeria Limited.
She was born in Sokoto to a Yoruba mother and her father is Nupe from Bida.
41 year old Aisha did her secondary education at Federal Government Girls College, Bida, Niger State where she finished in the class of 1992 set.
Ahmad who was picked to replace retired Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Sarah Alade who hailed from North Central, Kwara State, studied at University of Abuja and graduated from department of Accountancy with the class of 1997. She also has a Master of Business Administration (MBA), in Finance from the prestigious University of Lagos.
Aisha until her nomination was Head Consumer Banking & Investment with Diamond Bank.
She’s from a muslim family and Aisha her self is a practicing Muslim.
She holds M.Sc (Master of Science), in Finance & Management from Cranfield School of Management in United Kingdom.
Aisha has membership to the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Associations.
Aisha Ahmad has a sound professional banking experience that moves from the NAL Bank Plc, Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc, Zenith Bank Plc and Diamond Bank.
She’s also in NGO as the chairperson of the Executive Council of Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ), a Nigerian non-profit organisation, she was part of the establishment in 2001.
She is not just a success career-wise, unlike most career ladies who seldom have time for marriage or children, 40 year old Aisha had proven that a family is also as important as her career if not more.
She is happily married to a retired general of the Nigerian Army, Abdullahi Ahmed who is also from Bida, Niger State and they are blessed with two male children, AbdulShakur and Jamal.
