An Enugu-based group, the Mandate Renaissance Initiative’, has called on the electorates to shun apathy and troup out en-mass to vote for good governance in March 9, 2019 governorship and state Assembly elections.
Speaking during a mobilisation meeting of the group in Enugu Wednesday, the patron of group Dr Felix Ugwu enjoined the members to mobilise the people of their areas to participate in the electoral process in other to deepen the subsisting democracy in Nigeria.
They said all effort must be put in place to ensure that Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi recorded a resounding victory in the polls.
The US-based management consultant said that without democracy, Nigeria will be doomed adding that if the likes of governor Ugwuanyi are elected in any democratic setting, a great positive change will be experienced.
Dr Ugwu, who applauded the godly spirit with which Ugwuanyi has been piloting the affairs of Enugu state, said the Governor represents peace and good governance.
According to Ugwu, “we are promoters of good governance and as such are committed to the re-election of Ugwuanyi who has within the last three years shown great will and capacity to manage the state’s human and material resources.
“The people of Enugu state should show their appreciation for a peaceful Enugu state, human capacity development and social infrastructure which the Ugwuanyi’s leadership has accomplished by voting for him to be elected for a second term.”
In his speech earlier, the coordinator of the group and the Administrator of Udi South Development centre, Hon. Ifeanyi Agu said that Enugu people have not had it rosier until the emergence of Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
He called on his members to carry the message to all the nook and cranny of the state to ensure that Gov. Ugwuanyi, the man with the wand is given a second chance to accomplish his lofty programmes for the people of Enugu state.
“We have continued to mobilise the people of Enugu state to effectively participate in the electoral process with a view to voting massively for Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi during the Saturday Governorship and state Assembly elections.
“And we believe that it shall all end in praise as our principal Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi shall be re-elected after the Saturday Governorship poll”, he said.
