Today is the 2019 International Women’s Day celebration, and Senate President Bukola Saraki has shared photos of he celebrated with women.
Women’s day is a celebration which is done on the 8 of March every year.
The women’s day celebration is geared towards the movement for women’s rights. The 1910 International Socialist Woman’s Conference suggested a Women’s Day be held annually, after the Socialist Party of America organized a Women’s Day on February 28, 1909, in New York.
The Senate President of Nigeria was not going to be left out of the celebration. Taking to his Twitter page, he wrote;
“Today, I join the world over, in celebrating the great achievements of women across Nigeria and the world who continue to play transformative roles in various spheres of influence that impact our future. #IWD2019 #InternationalWomensDay”
