The General Supervisor of ThankGod Awaited Liberation Ministry, Ogba-Ikeja, Lagos State, Prophet Francis Onwudiwe Otukwu, has advised Nigerians to exercise their civic responsibility as led by their conscience, and not based on the pronouncements of politicians who, during election campaigns, make false and irredeemable pledges that amount to promising heaven only for them to deliver Hell, when they are eventually elected into office at all tiers of government.
He noted that it is hypocritical for highly placed political office-holders to talk glibly about integrity, when in reality their actions in the last three years has been totally devoid of strong moral principles, such as fairness, justice, nobility of action, national cohesion and inclusiveness.
Prophet Otukwu, who stated this during the 10th Thanksgiving Anniversary of the ascension of the founder of the ministry, Son-of Man, ThankGod Chukwuma, cautioned that the new set of leadership that would emerge at the end of the general election should turn a new leaf, in terms of performance and honouring promises as reflected in their manifestos, which earned them the public’s mandate, as they must be accountable to God one day, and not underestimate the possibility of His intervention in the affairs of the nation.
“War against corruption should not be corrupted with injustice. Irrespective of status or calling, there is a God of justice who must address every act of injustice, double standard, unfairness and parochialism, which have created more economic and political problems that multiplied the ranks of the poor and unemployed, while a privileged few continue to share our common wealth at the expense of the masses. Notwithstanding, Nigeria will surely bounce back one day, despite the economic setback and divisive tendencies of our political leaders.”
