The gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the yesterday’s election in Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has won his local government area for his party.
Makinde, who voted at unit 1, ward 11 in Ibadan North East Local government area on Saturday had earlier delivered his polling unit for the PDP.
The results announced at the INEC state headquarters in Ibadan, Sunday morning indicated that Makinde won the local government area with 30,824 to defeat the APC candidate, Mr. Adebayo Adelabu, who scored a total of 12,553 votes in the local government area.
The results also indicated that 944 votes and 466 were recorded for ADC and ADP respectively.
The coalition currently taking place at the INEC office located at Parliament Road, Agodi Ibadan, the state capital is being supervised by Vice Chancellor of University of Lagos, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe who is also the collation officer of the gubernatorial election.
Others at the collation centre included; Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the state, Barrister Mutiu Agboke and heads of security agencies.
