Ethiopian Airlines have grounded its Boeing 737 MAX 8 fleet after a crash on Sunday killed 149 passengers and eight crew members.
The management of the Airline disclosed this in a statement on its Twitter page.
The statement read: “Following the tragic accident of ET 302… Ethiopian Airlines has decided to ground all B-737-8 MAX fleet effective yesterday, March 10, until further notice
“Although we don’t yet know the cause of the accident, we have to decide to ground the particular fleet as an extra safety precaution.”
DAILY POST had reported that the airline announced that there were no survivors on its flight ET302 which crashed on Sunday en route Nairobi from Addis Ababa.
The airline said the 149 passengers and eight crew members on board the B-737-800MAX with registration number ET- AVJ, all died in the crash.
“None of the people on board the Boeing 737 that crashed en route from Addis Ababa to Nairobi survived,” the airline said.
The management of the Ethiopian airline also confirmed that Amb. Abiodun Bashua was one of Nigerian passengers on board.
