The Presidency has condemned an attack on mosque which led to the death of 40 Muslims in New Zealand.
DAILY POST had reported that Forty-nine people were killed and at least 20 others injured as gunmen attacked two mosques in Christ church, New Zealand.
The gunmen were reported to have opened indiscriminate fire at worshippers, including women and children, who had gathered for Friday prayers, Al Jazeera reports.
New Zealand’s Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern addressing a news conference described the attack as the worst in the Pacific country’s history.”
“The mosque shootings appeared to be a well-planned terrorist attack.This is, and will be, one of New Zealand’s darkest days,” Ardern said.
The prime minister also said two explosive devices attached to the suspect’s vehicles were found and were disarmed.
Reacting, Buhari’s media aide, Bashir Ahmaad described the incident as ‘cruel and inhuman act’
Ahmaad on his Twitter page wrote: “Over 40 Muslims killed inside a mosque, a place of worship. Very sad!
“May Allah protect us and our families from such horrible inhuman, cruel and barbaric act, and may He comfort the families of the victims, forgive and grant them Jannah.”
