Bauchi State Governor, Mohammed Abdullahi, on Monday met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The visit came barely 24 hours after the Presidency distanced Buhari from the activities of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of this weekend’s supplementary elections in up to six states.
Speaking to State House correspondents after the closed-door meeting with the president, the Governor revealed that he briefed the president on the latest political development in Bauchi state.
Abdullahi explained that the position of INEC regarding the result of the Bauchi governorship election was capable of creating social unrest.
Last Friday, INEC decided to resume the collation of the governorship election result in Bauchi State and may declare the winner of the poll, hitherto ruled as inconclusive along with five other states across the country.
