Ex-housemates of Big Brother Naija: Double Wahala (S3) shared their struggles and lessons from the show one year after the season aired.
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that 19 ex-housemates reconvened at the big brother house on Monday night in an epic reunion show hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.
Opening the show, Ebuka promised fans that the March 18 to March 31 reunion will feature massive drama, fun and entertainment.
He said, “everything is on the line and nothing is off the table.
He went on to introduce some of housemates, extolling their best known qualities while they were on the show.
Some of the ex-housemates featured on Monday night, shared their fondest memories in the big brother house while the show lasted.
Alex Unusual, dancer, model and writer said she missed the Saturday night party because that was like my zone.
“ I miss Big Brother and my diary sessions because now when I get mad there’s nobody to go and tell everything and rant,’’ she said.
Also, Anto Lecky said she missed the food, music and luxury the house provided.
For CeeC, she missed Biggie’s voice the most.
Speaking on the lessons they picked from the show, Alex, said she learnt the importance of growth and came to embrace her own growth.
She said, “I was afraid of growing up but with this, I had to grow up by force. Now I am a grown-up lady.’’
Also, Nina Oyenobi told Ebuka that she learnt how to channel her strength and become more confident.
However, Angel on his part learnt that sometimes his confidence and demeanor could come off as being proud or oppressive.
He said, “It was an eye-opener for me. It showed me a mirror. I didn’t like the mirror or what I saw in it but I have been able to work through it.”
CeeC said she learnt she is a strong, independent and unapologetic woman and was grateful for the lesson.
She said, “I don’t care about people’s opinions or perceptions about me. Anybody feels they want to come at me for anything, it’s not my business.”
On projects embarked on one year after the show and how they have handled fame, Alex Unusual described life after the show as “daring”.
`I have worked with reputable brands, I am currently working and I will continue to work with more reputable brands.’
According to her, apart from the public scrutiny that comes with fame, she has gained an amazing network of fans, family and friends.
She said, “I love myself family and fans. I cannot change them for anything in this world. I have not seen anybody that people are so ready to go all out for.
“I get gifts like every day so in all, this journey has been very cool,” Alex Unusual said.
For Nina, CeeC and Rico Swavey, fame has brought them several deals just like the other housemates but they wished they had more privacy to go about their normal lives.
Dee-One talked about the positive impact of the fame on his career as a comedian.
He said that his show ‘Dee-One Evicted’ was a huge success following his Big Brother stint.
Leo Dasilva spoke about starting a shoe brand immediately he left the show.
He said, “I was not 100 percent in the house head wise as I was always thinking about my mum and her health.”
Meanwhile, the season’s winner, Miracle Igbokwe was absent as he was still at the flying school in the U.S. .
He, however, sent a video message sending his love to his fellow ex-housemates.
NAN reports that the reunion show tagged Double Wahala: Reloaded will continue to air daily till March 31.
