Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate in the just concluded election, has reacted to results of the Sokoto State supplementary governorship election.
DAILY POST reported that candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Sokoto, Governor Aminu Tambuwal, was declared winner of the governorship election in the state.
Tambuwal won with a slim margin, after collation of results from 22 Local Governments Areas (LGAs), where supplementary election took place.
Governor Tambuwal polled 512,002 votes to defeat Ahmad Aliyu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who came close behind with 511,661, losing to his erstwhile principal with just 341votes.
Reacting, Atiku on his Twitter page wrote, “I congratulate His Excellency, Governor Aminu Tambuwal on his re-election and I assure the good people of Sokoto state that they have made the right decision that will see them continue on the path to peace, progress and prosperity.”
