The Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has inaugurated a 15-member committee for the review and negotiation of a new National Minimum Wage for the state workers.
This was stated by the Special Assistant to the Governor of Jigawa State on New Media, Auwal D. Sankara (Fica), who added that the inauguration held at the Jigawa State Government.
He explained that the committee will be chaired by the outgoing Deputy Governor, Barr. Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, while the Acting Head of Service, Hussaini Ali Kila will serve as the Secretary of the Committee.
Governor Badaru, in his remarks, said the inauguration of the committee followed the approval of the Federal Government for the increase in National Minimum Wage and to fulfil the promise he made during his electioneering activities.
He said after completion of the work of the committee, a bill would be sent to the State House of Assembly to undergo scrutiny before being passed into law.
