Reno Omokri, former spokesman to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has attacked the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) for visiting President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday.
DAILY POST had reporter on Friday that the leadership of CAN visited President Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
CAN President, Rev Samson Olasupo, who spoke at the meeting with the President, in Aso Rock Villa, listed what the body expects from Buhari in his second term.
He also pointed out areas that needed urgent attention.
These included the release of the remaining Chibok girls and Leah Sharibu from Boko Haram captivity, stopping killings in Kaduna and other places, herdsmen/farmers clashes and kidnappings.
Olasupo said: “The unnecessary killings in Kaduna and the detention of some leaders of Ajara Chiefdom in Kaduna State since January should be addressed without delay to douse all tensions. All efforts today by all of us should be geared towards forgiving one another and reconciling with one another.”
Reacting, Omokri took to his official Twitter page on Saturday to criticise the leadership of CAN.
He wrote: “I saw Christian Association of Nigeria leaders gathered to congratulate @MBuhari. I asked when did CAN leaders gather to visit Leah Sharibu’s family, or S Kaduna people killed by herdsmen, or the family of Eunice Elisha, beheaded for preaching? According to Obasanjo, CAN my foot!”
