A man identified as, Lloyd Weekes, has been jailed for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl on a bus in the UK.
The 57-year-old man was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment at Wood Green Crown Court in London on Thursday, 28 March after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting the teenager.
The offence was committed on the morning of 26 February 2018 on a Route W3 bus travelling through Haringey.
The girl was with a friend and the pair boarded the busy bus in Wood Green. After a short time on the bus, she felt someone touching her and turned around to see Weekes. She confronted him before leaving the bus and reporting the incident to police.mand.
Weekes was positively identified by a Detective Constable who recognized him after a CCTV image of the suspect was circulated amongst officers.
Lloyd Weekes was subsequently arrested and charged. He pleaded guilty to the offence on 8 February 2019.
He was also ordered to sign the sex offenders register for 10 years, and a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order was made.
The court heard that Weekes had previously committed similar offences on the London Underground network.
