The traditional ruler of Amuri Ancient Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Charles Nwoye, has expressed satisfaction over the process that led to the reelection of President Muhammandu Buhari.
Nwoye equally described the Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s victory in Enugu State as “well-deserved and good for the people of the State.”
He, however, said it was time for President Buhari to rejig his cabinet.
The monarch, who spoke to journalists weekend at his palace in Amuri Community in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State, advised him to remain focused on infrastructural and human oriented-programme and policies.
Nwoye spoke on the occasion of his 10th year Anniversary on the throne, calling on Nigerians, irrespective of party affiliation, to give the President the needed support.
He insisted that the re-election was good for the nation as it would enable the president consolidate on the achievements recorded by his administration during the first tenure.
Igwe Nwoye, said he strongly believed that the President was in the right direction, “especially in the area of community development, infrastructure and all the essential and social amenities that enhance the living of the populace.”
He urged the President not to be deterred or distracted by political foes, stressing the need for him to remain focused in the direction he was going.
He added that Buhari should “have a quick review of his past cabinet members, including ministers and bring forward those who are going to energize the system towards the direction his government is focussing on.”
“It is a double celebration for me in the sense that the election has come and gone. As I celebrate the 10th Anniversary, the election in my community was also hitch- free, so we have every course to celebrate,” he declared.
“The election of the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Muhammandu Buhari and of course the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces is a good thing for this nation, so there is need for us to support him.
“I strongly believe that our president is in the right direction. I congratulate him personally and I urge him not to be deterred by even his political foes in his focus. He should remain focussed in the direction he is going.”
He equally used the opportunity to commend the state governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his developmental projects in the entire communities of the State.
The monarch said the Governor had shown one of the basic principles of community development by ensuring community partnership in community development.
He stated that such programmes and projects could only be sustained when there was community participation, adding that the Governor has supported communities financially to develop their areas.
High point of the occasion, which was witnessed by Governor Ugwuanyi and dignitaries across the country, was honouring of deserving citizens of Amuri for their contribution towards the development of the community.
