The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has petitioned the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Lagos Commissioner of Police, Zubairu Muazu, to restrain Otunba Segun Adewale from parading himself as the party’s chairman in Lagos state.
PDP National Vice Chairman (Southwest), Dr. Eddy Olafeso, in a petition personally signed by him, claimed that Adewale had for some time insisted that he was the authentic chairman of Lagos PDP, while also alleging the incumbent, Dr. Adegbola Dominic, was an impostor.
According to Olafeso, Otunba Adewale is not a PDP member but a member of Action Democratic Party (ADP).
He recalled, in the petition, that he (Adewale) was a gubernatorial candidate of ADP in the 2018 governorship poll in Ekiti State and listed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as No. 5 on the list of contestants.
The petition reads in part, “Our attention has been drawn to the purported claim to the office of the Lagos State chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by one Segun Adewale (aka Aeroland).
“We wish to categorically state without fear or favour that the said impostor, Segun Adewale, is not a member of our party.
“It might interest you to know that this individual is the gubernatorial candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in the 2018 Governorship election of Ekiti State, and we do not have a record of him decamping to our party, either in Lagos State or any other state chapter.
“Against the aforementioned, we wish to ask that you use your good office to maintain peace and order by restraining Segun Adewale from having access to the State Headquarters of our party in Lagos State, currently at 56A, Adekunle Fajuyi Way, Ikeja or any other PDP facility,” the PDP zonal chairman said.
While expressing gratitude to the Lagos State Commissioner, Muazu, and State Director of DSS for their usual cooperation, Olafeso said he or the PDP Zonal Secretary, Bunni Jenyo, could be reached for further details and clarification on the matter in case there was a need for such.
