Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has reacted to the release of Zainab Aliyu, the Nigerian student detained in Saudi Arabia for alleged drugs trafficking.
Omokri commended Buhari for the timely release of the Nigerian nationale.
In a tweet, Omokri called on Buhari to extend to same gesture towards the release of Leah Sharibu, the Christian schoolgirl abducted by Boko Haram in Dapchi.
He wrote: “I celebrate the @MBuhari government for securing Zainab Aliyu’s release in record breaking time. President Buhari is to be commended.
“Now, I urge the President to apply the same sense of urgency that he showed for Zainab towards Leah Sharibu and make #FreeLeahSharibu a reality.”
The Saudi authority had recently arrested Zainab over alleged drug trafficking.
DAILY POST reported that Buhari had directed that Abubakar Malami, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice to immediately intervene in the case of Zainab.

She had said, “President Muhammadu Buhari gave the directive immediately the matter was brought to his attention about two weeks ago.
