The Jigawa State government has reduced the official working hours of its civil servants by two hours for the holy month of Ramadan.
This was disclosed by the state’s acting Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Hassan Kila, as contained in a statement issued to DAILY POST by the Public Relations Officer, Office of the State Head of the Civil Service, Ismail Ibrahim.
He said civil servants would now report to work at 9am and close by 3pm between Monday and Thursday instead of the 5pm normal closing time.
The statement added that workers would report to work on Fridays by 9am and close by 1pm instead of the usual 3pm.
The statement expressed hopes that civil servants would use the fasting period to pray for the peace and economic prosperity of the state and Nigeria at large.
