Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr says he will make a decision on whether to allow Samuel Chukwueze feature for Nigeria at the 2019 U-20 World Cup or include the young winger in his squad to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Chukwueze is among the overseas-based players invited by Flying Eagles head coach Paul Aigbogun for the 2019 U-20 World Cup, which will start this month in Poland.
But the player has stated that he is yet to make up his mind on whether he will be part of the squad.
His Spanish club, Villarreal, have reportedly told him that he can only feature in one of the tournaments.
“It is a little dilemma that we must try to fix and hopefully there will be a good solution,” Rohr told BBC Sport.
“I understand when the club says it is impossible for him to play in the Afcon and the youth World Cup.
“Chukwueze has good qualities and we already see why he plays at the top level in Spain.
“He has an interesting ability which makes him a very important talent for any team he plays with.
“I saw this quality when he played with us and the Olympic team, we must support Chukwueze and other players too,” Rohr stated.
Chukwueze has enjoyed an impressive debut season with Villarreal’s first team, scoring eight goals across all competitions.
