Former running mate to the late Prince Abubakar Audu in the 2015 governorship election in Kogi State, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, has warned the incumbent governor of the state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, to stop politicizing the welfare of workers in the state.
Hon. Faleke in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Thursday noted that the warning became necessary as many Muslims brothers and sisters are observing this year’s Ramadan amid hunger and hardship.
He appealed to the Kogi State Government to pay civil servants and pensioners their due entitlements to enable Muslim faithful perform the Ramadan fast with ease.
Faleke stated that his appeal for the immediate complete payment of salaries and pensions is altruistic and not political.
The APC chieftain congratulated Muslim faithful for witnessing yet another blessed month of consecration and blessings.
“Governor Yahaya Bello should for once avoid politicization this appeal, particularly during this holy month of Ramadan.
“This month of Ramadan symbolises an environment of peace, harmony and equality. Ramadan fasting signifies disciplined life, unity among the people and rendering help to the poor and needy”.
“In this blessed month, we all have opportunities to reflect on the blessings we have been given and work toward greater fellowship with one another.
“Together, in the spirit of Ramadan, we can achieve a more harmonious and respectful society.
“Muslim faithful should imbibe the virtues of tolerance, brotherliness, care for the needy and self-discipline,” he said.
While requesting for prayers for the rescue and restoration of Kogi State, the federal lawmaker prayed to Allah to give Muslim brothers and sisters the strength and every needed energy during the holy month of Ramadan.
