Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Aviation minister, on Tuesday, expressed optimism that Leah Sharibu would soon overcome her travail in the hands of Boko Haram terrorists.
Fani-Kayode stated this while celebrating Miss Sharibu as she turns a year older today.
Leah was abducted on the night of February 19, 2018, alongside her schoolmates of Government Science College, Dapchi in Yobe State.
The abducted student has remained in the custody of the insurgents for refusing to denounce her Christian faith.
The former minister commended Sharibu for standing by her faith despite her trials.
In a series of tweets, Fani-Kayode wrote: “May God continue to be with her and may He grant her freedom from her cruel captors. Millions are with you and are praying for you O Daughter of Zion.
“Blessed are those that are persecuted for their faith. In the fullness of time you shall prevail. Happy birthday Leah Sharibu!
“Today is Leah Sharibu’s birthday. She has been held captive by Boko Haram for over 400 days now simply because she has refused to renounce her Christian faith.
“She is a reference point for courage, strength and faith and a source of inspiration and pride for every believer.”
