The Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, has rejected the resignation of his Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Jide Ojuko.
This was made known by the Commissioner himself at a press briefing in Abeokuta on Friday.
He said, as a consequence of Governor Amosun’s rejection of his resignation, he has reversed his decision to state executive council of the outgoing government.
Recall that Ojuko had earlier tendered his letter of resignation over a directive from his boss, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, on the installation of traditional rulers in Ota, which according to him was against his “conscience”.
However, the Commissioner told journalists that Governor Amosun not only rejected his resignation but promised to look into the issues surrounding his aborted move to exit the cabinet.
Ojuko said, “The letter was a love letter between two lovers. The governor rejected my letter of resignation and all issues surrounding it were being looked into. So, I am the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs until the end of this administration.”
