The immediate past Senior Special Adviser on Labour and Productivity to the Abia State Government and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Abraham Amah, has taken a swipe at the Nigeria Service Chiefs over escalating killings and kidnapping of innocent citizens, in northern part of the country.
He opined that the nation’s security chiefs have failed to protect the citizenry, saying that the military and the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government lacked the requisite professionalism
The PDP chieftain, also chided the federal government for its continued poor handling of the security challenging bedeviling and threatening the unity of the country.
Amah, who spoke in an interview with newsmen on Monday, in Umuahia, opined that the present security heads lacked the requisite tactics and professionalism to curb the terror attacks on the Nigerian people.
The Abia-born politician, however, canvassed for more international support from foreign countries in bilateral relationship with Nigeria government to enable the nation to tackle the menace of killer herdsmen and Boko Haram headlong.
“The insecurity in our country is very bad and has become a sort of national embarrassment. Our national development is under threat, as no reasonable foreign investor can overlook such bad situation and consider investing in a country like Nigeria.
“The country is in a time of war. This is not a war where a foreign country has attacked Nigeria, but, this is a war where hoodlums and terrorists within the country, are attacking the nation. And from every indication, it seemed as if the government of the day has lost focus. The knowledge and wisdom required to handle the situation, are not available to them.”
