The Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, on Tuesday allegedly walked out the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Nasiru Ajanah, from a function.
The incident occurred at Government House, Lokoja during the swearing-in ceremony of new Grand Gadi of the state.
The function was attended by top government officials and others from the Judiciary sector.
The Chief Judge, who was officially invited by the protocol officer of government house was seated before the arrival of the governor.
However, some minutes later before the arrival of the governor, the Chief Security Officer to the governor approached the Chief Judge and informed him that the governor gave a directive that he should not be allowed to attend the function.
The Chief Judge, Justice Nasiru Ajanah then left government house back to his office to avoid any problem.
When contacted, the Director-General Media and Publicity to the governor, Mr. Kingsley Fanwho, said the information was false.
According to him; “Yes the Chief Judge of Kogi State was in Government House today Tuesday for the inauguration of the new Grand Gadi of the state. But before the program commenced, he left. So the CJ will be in best position to explain why he left before the commencement of the program. The governor has tremendous respect for the chief judge of the state and will never do something of such.
