Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has approved the appointment of Mrs. Amidat Ololade Agboola as the new Head of Service (HoS) of the state Civil Service.
The appointment, DAILY POST reports will take effect from Friday May 24, 2019.
The appointed is coming less than one week to end Ajimobi’s second term in the office as governor.
Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Olalekan Alli, in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Thursday, urged the new HoS to uphold the tenets of the strong traditions of the civil service and remain committed to welfare of both the public and civil servants.
The new HoS, Mrs. Agboola joined the public service of Oyo State as administrative officer in 1988 and held various positions of responsibility across the service until her appointment as Permanent Secretary in March 2015, in the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The newly appointed HoS attended Queens School, Ibadan (1975 – 1981) for her secondary school and holds the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) as well as Master’s degrees in History and Public administration from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife in 1985 and 2008 respectively.
The new HoS, who is a native of Ibadan, the state capital is the wife of a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senator Hosea Agboola.
Agboola, who doubles as co-chairman of the joint transition committee in the state, represented Oyo North in the National Assembly between 2011 and 2015 on the platform of PDP.
Alli concluded that the present HoS, Mrs. Olawumi Ogunesa has retired voluntarily from the Civil Service effective Thursday, May 23, 2019.
