Rivers state Governor, Nyesom Wike has been sworn-in for his second term in office.
Governor Wike took his oath after his Deputy, Ipalibo Harry-Banigo was sworn-in in the presence of guests at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Port Harcourt.
Governor Wike in his inauguration address said significant achievements were made during his first term in Office.
Governor Wike who highlighted some of his successes said he was able to reposition Rivers state because of the support he enjoyed from the people.
The Governor said he will no relent on his promise until a better and safer Rivers state is achieved.
“Our part is not yet done until we fully and comprehensively deliver on the vision of our founding fathers,” he said.
Governor Wike announced a ban on street trading and declared a state of emergency on sanitation in Port Harcourt.
