The Kaduna state Police Command has paraded 71 suspects said to be engaged in various criminal offences in the state.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ali Aji Janga, while briefing newsman in Kaduna, said that the 71 suspects belong to different suspected criminal gangs that have been terrorising citizens of the state.
According to him, 10 suspects are for criminal conspiracy, armed robbery and kidnapping, 13 suspects for criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, mischief by fire, inciting disturbance and causing grievous hurt.
He added that two suspects were arrested for criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide and seven suspects for criminal conspiracy and theft.
Janga explained that 23 were also arrested for criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, thuggery, illegal possession of firearm and being in possession of illicit drugs.
He added that four suspects for criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, thuggery and unlawful possession of dangerous weapons,
Six suspects, he said, are for criminal conspiracy, vandalization, theft and receiving stolen property while five suspects were arrested for criminal conspiracy, public nuisance, smoking in public places and belonging to the gang of wandering brigands.
One suspect, he said, is for criminal conspiracy, shop breaking and theft, criminal conspiracy, armed robbery and kidnapping.
CP Janga assured that under his watch, the command intends to intensify efforts in fighting crime while at the same time respecting the fundamental rights of all individuals and upholding the principle of zero tolerance to corruption, impunity and indiscipline for successful democratic governance in line with the ideals of Kaduna State and the Federal Government of Nigeria.
