The Emir of Muri Emirate in Jalingo, Taraba State, Alhaji Abbas Tafida, has accused politicians of being responsible for the religious and communal crisis.
He said this while addressing people from his emirate, who paid him Sallah homage in his palace in Jalingo.
Tafida insisted that “politicians, instead of promoting peaceful coexistence, were opting to mislead their people.”
He decried the crisis in the state, saying that almost all the tribes in the state had fought one another.
The Emir lamented that the crisis going on in the state had displaced thousands of people.
He called for urgent need to address the problem in the state.
“The Jukun fought the Kitubs, the Jukun fought Tiv, Hausa-Fulani, the Kona fought Mumuye, the Jole fought the Shomos and so many other tribes in the state have also fought one another,” the Emir said.
