The Nigerian Prison Service (NPS) has promoted a total of 5,482 officers and men.
The Controller of Prisons Kebbi State Command, CP Abu Sanu, made the disclosure on Thursday.
ASPI Faisal Namadi, Command Public Relations Officer, quoted Sani, who decorated 50 elevated staff under him, as urging them to “be magnanimous and shun pompousity and arrogance.
He also appealed to those that missed the promotion to exercise patience asking them to work harder for the next promotion exercise.
Speaking on behalf of the promoted Officers ACP Idris Garba (Officer incharge Birnin Kebbi Old Prison), thanked the Controller General of Prisons Ahmed Ja’afaru, for deeming it worthy to elevate them.
Those promoted include Officers incharge of Yelwa-Yauri, Kangiwa and Warrah Satellite Prisons as well as the Command’s Spokesman.
