A former Minister of Education, Dr Oby Ezekwesili, has condemned the clash between the Nigeria Police and Shiites members in Abuja.
DAILY POST had reported that Senior Officer, DCP Umar, six people were killed in a crackdown on supporters of the lslamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), who were protesting the detention of their leader in Abuja on Monday.
Also, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) shed/outpost and ambulance set ablaze by Shi’ite members in Abuja.
Reacting to the killings, Ezekwesili described the clash between both parties as terrible, advising the government to respect peaceful protests.
The former minister wrote: “The news of killings in the clash between protesters and police that I am reading out here is terrible. Can both sides please STOP??
“Too much blood flowing on our land.
“How often we have urged the Government to respect peaceful protests and protesters to be civil!”
