#BrownSkinGirlChallenge trends worldwide on twitter as people around the world acknowledge the importance of the message passed in the song that was released this week, by Beyoncé in her complementary album, The Lion King: The Gift, which she called “a love letter to Africa.”
Truth be told, the album is amazing and one of the standout songs “Brown Skin Girl,” which features vocals from Queen Bey’s 7-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, Guyanese rapper SAINt JHN and Nigerian singer WizKid.
A lot of people loved the song after listening to it for the first time majorly because of the motivation to be proud of the brown skin color
The empowering song praises brown-skinned women like Lupita Nyong’o, Naomi Campbell, and Kelly Rowland, and has inspired others to embrace their own melanin for all of its richness and beauty.
Over the weekend, the hashtag #BrownSkinGirlChallenge went viral with Black women around the world uploading photos of themselves feeling proud of the skin they’re in.
