The immediate past minister of Trade and Investment, Okechukwu Enelamah, was among other ex-ministers dumped by President Muhammadu Buhari.
DAILY POST reports that Buhari had forwarded his Ministerial nominees to the Senate with Dr. Uchechukwu Ogah from Abia, making the list.
Ogah was the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the last 2019 election in Abia state.
The Abia state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had severally tackled the ex-minister over his alleged indifference to party issues.
Comrade Benedict Godson, the Publicity Secretary of the party, had in April, vowed that the leadership of the party in the state, would resist any move to reappoint Enelamah.
According to him, “We have a minister on paper, but nobody feels his impact. Throughout the campaigns, he showed no interest. He is supposed to help in the building of this party, but he has remained unconcerned and lackadaisical to the interest of APC.
“He’s practically not an APC member. Now, he is being projected again to return as a minister which should not be so. We disown him, because, he is a saboteur to our party here in Abia. His attitude is serving the interest of the opposition”.
It appears Buhari bowed to the party’s pressure.
