A class room block at Edward Ujege Science College, Tse-Agberagba is to be named after the Chief Press Secretary to Benue State Governor, Mr Terver Akase, in recognition of his contributions to the school and education in the area.
This announcement was made by Proprietor of the college, Chief Edward Ujege during the school’s end of session activities which took place at school’s premises in Tse-Agberagba, Konshisha Local Government Area.
The proprietor said the Governor’s spokesman deserves to be in the college’s hall of fame for the huge support he has been rendering to the institution right from its budding stage to its it’s current level.
Chief Ujege who is also the President of Mdzough u Tiv, while urging parents to consider the education of their children as the best investment, said the Edward Ujege Science College is committed to delivering quality education to its students and increase the number of scientists in the state.
Earlier, Chairman of the college’s Board of Directors, the Ter Ikyor, Chief Thomas Jam Gbinde, also appreciated Akase’s efforts at helping younger people to realize their potential. He commended the proprietor for providing quality education to children from Konshisha and other parts of the state, urging the students to embrace science education for a greater future.
Responding, Mr Terver Akase who was represented by Benjamin Ngutsav, thanked the college for the honour done him, saying the gesture had encouraged him to do more.
He commended Chief Ujege for complementing efforts of Benue State Government in providing quality education to Benue children especially in the area of science.
Mr Akase reaffirmed the commitment of the Ortom administration in strengthening education at all levels with emphasis on primary and secondary stages of learning.
While admonishing students of the college to shun all social vices that could destroy their future, the Chief Press Secretary urged them to be humble, hardworking and to preserve in their quest for new knowledge.
Other activities at the event included inter-school debate and quiz, presentation of gifts, drama and cultural dance.
