Think billionaire Aliko Dangote and Rafael Nadal’s superyachts are amazing? Then you need to see this luxury 65-metre Galactica Star superyacht that was formerly owned by Nigerian oil mogul, Kolawole Aluko.
Inside the moving mansion includes duplex beach club comprising a 10 square metre side balcony, a 22 square metre swim platform, bar, sauna and a hammam, lit with natural light coming through the glass bottom of the main-deck swimming-pool.
It can accommodates 12 guests overnight in 6 cabins, comprising a master suite, 1 VIP stateroom, and 4 double cabins.
The luxury 65-metre Galactica Star superyacht was listed for sale earlier this year for $42m ( ₦15 Billion ) and sold on July 25 to a buyer introduced as Burgess as a result of a notorious corruption case involving Aluko, Prince Olajide Omokore and former oil minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke.
The seized superyacht was offered for sale in a sealed bid arrangement, proposed by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Republic of Nigeria and approved by U.S. federal court due to high maintenance and dockage fees, estimating the combined cost at around $170,000 (₦61.2m)per month.
The former owner of the superyacht, Kola Aluko, is one of four defendants accused of cheating Nigeria out of almost $1.8 b (₦648 billion) in siphoned crude oil sales.
The U.S. government also accused Aluko of laundering money in the United States and using it to acquire the luxury $80million Galactica Star yacht, 58 exotic cars, houses, expensive watches and several private jets.
The yacht used to be popular for charter among celebrities. It was once rented by American music industry power couple, Jay Z and Beyonce for a holiday cruise.
