The Biafra Nations Youth League, BNYL, has denied being in alliance with the RevolutionNow protest of the presidential candidate of African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, even as it used harsh words against the northern part of the country.
DAILY POST on Monday reported that heavily-armed security operatives from the Police Command in Lagos, the Army, and the NSCDC barricaded the entrance to the National Stadium, Surulere, ahead of the RevolutionNow protest spearheaded by Omoyele Sowore.
DSS had arrested Sowore over the weekend after he called for the protest against bad governance.
However, BNYL, in a statement sent to DAILY POST by its Deputy Leader and Head of Operations, Biafra Broadcasting Service, BBS, Ebuta Ogar Takon, dissociated its members from the RevolutionNow protest.
He noted that the people of the Southeast and South-south of the defunct Eastern region want self-determination and not a revolution for the betterment of Nigeria.
“Youths of the East would prefer to die for Biafra than Presidency of Igbo extraction, we value Biafra than their Presidency, to hell with them in the north.
“People of the Southeast and South-south of the defunct Eastern region want self-determination and not a revolution for the betterment of Nigeria.
“Rumors online of a clash between Biafra members in Odukpani LGA of Cross River State and Herders are just speculations. Our members did not confront herders with matchets and Fuel at Odukpani town before the Police intervention,” the statement added.
