The Abia State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has adjourned till August 29 to adopt written addresses by counsels of the parties in the matter.
Recall that the tribunal adjourned yesterday(Tuesday) after the 2nd Respondent, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, through his counsel, Dr. Paul Ananaba Ph.D, abruptly closed his case after calling a few witnesses in defense of his case.
Before the adjournment, the 3rd respondent, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, fielded her star and only witness in the person of Solomon Ogunji who testified before the tribunal.
Meantime, the Tribunal has fixed tomorrow (Thursday) for hearing of the application filed by the immediate past chairman of APGA, Augustine Ehiemere and his group.
Also recall that the Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA), Dr. Alex Otti had challenged the declaration of Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu of the PDP as the winner of the 2019 governorship election in the state by INEC at the Abia Governorship Election Petition Tribunal.
