The General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has raised the alarm over the rate of unemployment in Nigeria.
Suleman on Saturday criticized the present administration for providing a non-conducive environment for private businesses to thrive in the country.
According to him, taxes by FIRS, State and local government have discouraged entrepreneurs in private sector, therefore hindering availability of jobs.
He stressed that, “ In every sane nation, the tax rate drops when there are multiplicity of employees but in Nigeria it is the opposite.”
Apostle Suleman further called on the federal government to stop discouraging entrepreneurs with Taxes as Nigerians need more jobs.
On his Twitter page, the outspoken cleric wrote: “In every sane nation, the private sector employs more than government but in Nigeria civil servants are more.
“The government has not made the environment conducive for private sector, you start a business,FIRS would collect theirs, state will collect,, local govt etc.
“In Uk, if you have over 50 employees, your tax rate drops, you can even get a free space but in Nigeria, multiplicity of employee is seen as robust business progress to pay more tax.
“We need jobs in Nigeria. The government should stop discouraging entrepreneurs unconsciously.”
