Ayede-Ogbese community in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, as well as Alade-Idanre community in Idanre council area, have been ravaged by flood with residents rendered homeless.
With properties worth millions of naira destroyed, it was gathered that the flood caused by the torrential rain in the state, which led to the overflow of the river in Ogbese.
While calling for urgent intervention from relevant government agencies, particularly, the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, to come to their aid, residents of the affected communities urged the state and the federal government to come to their rescue with the dredging of the River in the community for free flow.
They also lamented that the means of their livelihood have been swept away, adding that their houses were destroyed by the flood with nowhere to put their families.
