Dino Melaye, the senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District on Friday rejected an appointment by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Melaye announced this on Friday on his official Twitter page.
PDP appointed Melaye as the Director-General of the PDP Kogi State Governorship Campaign Council.
Reacting to the appointment, Melaye on his Twitter page wrote: “Let me state categorically that I have turned down the position of Director-General of the PDP Kogi State Governorship Campaign Council.
“I wish PDP all the best. When the truth is a casualty, there is chaos. Senator Dino Melaye.”
DAILY POST had reported that the younger brother of the immediate past governor of Kogi State, Engr. Musa Wada defeated Dino Melaye to emerge winner of the party’s governorship primary ahead of the 16th November election.
Engr. Musa Wada scored 748 votes, followed by Abubakar Idris with 710 votes, the former governor Captain Idris Wada came third, while Senator Dino Melaye came fourth.
Musa Wada, from Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, is said to be former governor of the State, Captain Idris Wada’s younger brother and also an in-law to another former governor, Idris Ibrahim.
