Former presidential candidate of the Young Progressives Party, YPP, Kingsley Moghalu has condemned the rearrest of the convener of RevolutionNow protest, Omoyele Sowore by operatives of the Department of State Services, on Friday.
DAILY POST had reported that DSS operatives on Friday chased out lawyers from the courtroom and re-arrested Sowore.
Following the invasion of the courtroom, the trial judge, Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu adjourned the matter till February 11, 12 and 13 for definite hearing.
Reacting, Moghalu described the re-arrest of Sowore as a disregard to the rule of law by President Muhammadu Buhari adminstration
According to him, DSS, through its actions, desecrated the Nigerian judiciary systems.
Moghalu on his Twitter page wrote: “I condemn the total disregard for rule of law by Nigeria’s present government as we have seen in the DSS desecration of the Nigerian judicial system to rearrest Omoyele Sowore
“I call for his immediate release. Even accused persons are entitled to due process..”
