A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chukwuemeka Eze, has said Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, was attacked in Madrid, Spain because some persons were keen on smearing the image of President Muhammadu Buhari led Federal Government.
The associate of the minister said the attack was a violent violation of everything good about Nigeria’s march to development.
Commending government reaction and condemnation, Eze called on all Nigerians of goodwill to support calls for perpetrators of the act to be brought to justice.
In a statement on Sunday, the former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct new Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), said the attackers lacked “proper information and understanding” of the current government “in the areas of infrastructure, job creation, strengthening bilateral ties among others”.
Eze further criticized “children of anger celebrating the attack”.
“Their evil thoughts and wishes will never come to pass so far God is still on His throne”, he added.
Meanwhile, the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, have claimed responsibility for the attack.
Earlier in the year, former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, was assaulted in Nuremberg Germany by pro-Biafra activists.
