Kwara State Government Wednesday, set up a negotiating team to interface with representatives of the labour unions over the new N30,000 national minimum wage.
The team is led by top government officials and leadership of the labour unions in the state, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, Rafiu Ajakaye said in a statement in Ilorin.
“The team according to the statement, comprises Commissioners for Finance (chairman); Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs (member); Works and Transport (member); Special Adviser to governor, Special Duties (member); Permanent Secretaries Ministry of Finance, Service Welfare, Establishment and Training, Justice, and Local Government Service Commission, Kwara state chairmen of NLC, TUC, JNC,and secretary of the state JNC.
” The secretary of the Committee is the Director (Establishment and Pension) Mrs Onaoolapo Alaya,” the statement added.
Governor Abdulrazaq had Tuesday directed the Head of Service, Mrs. Module Susan Oluwole to constitute a panel to discuss the new national minimum wage issue in Kwara State.
Recall that the organised labour in the state had on Tuesday handed down a deadline of December 31, 2019 to the state government to immediately constitute a panel to discuss the new minimum wage or risk industrial unrest in the state.
