Major international news agencies reported earlier today that an airstrike by the United States killed top Iranian military commander Qasem Soleimani along with dozens of people.
Soleimani spearheaded operations in the Middle East, and his death caused a major upsurge in tensions between both countries.
News of a possible retaliation from Iran also hit the internet later in the day and twitter could not stay calm.
BBC defense and diplomatic correspondent, Jonathan Marcus, reported that While some have described the killing of Soleimani as “a declaration of war” by the United States against Iran, it is not right to tag it as a world war since key players like Russia and China is not involved.
