Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has provided latest fitness update on Harry Maguire, Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard ahead of his side’s Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg clash against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City on Tuesday night at Old Trafford.
Man United head to the game following a goalless draw against Wolves on Saturday in the FA Cup third-round encounter at Molineux.
Maguire picked up a fresh knock, Martial and Lingard did not feature against Wolves over the weekend, while Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay remain unavailable due to injury.
“It is a bit early yet [with Maguire],” Solskjaer told MUTV on Monday.
“We are going to give him as much time as possible. He was hobbling about yesterday but there are still 36 hours to go, so we will just wait with all of them.
”It is not a time to go out on the pitch and do lots of work anyway. We are going to do meetings and recovery work.”
Asked about Martial and Lingard, the Norwegian replied: “We hope that everyone is going to be available but we don’t know, because some recover quicker from illnesses than others. So it is the same answer. We have just got to give them as much time as possible and make a decision on the team in the morning.”
