Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation Minister, has reacted to the comment by Iranian government that it will not release the black box of Ukrainian Boeing-737 with 180 people on board, which crashed in the country.
Fani-Kayode said the Iranians should release the black box if they have nothing to hide.
The aircraft belonging to Ukraine International Airlines crashed just after take-off from Iran’s Imam Khomeini airport.
The crash happened at a time when Iran was threatening to go to war with the United States, US, over the killing of General Qasem Soleimani.
The two black boxes from the Ukrainian airliner that crashed outside the capital, Tehran were found on Wednesday, Iranian state television reported.
But, the head of Tehran’s civil aviation organization, Ali Abedzadeh on Wednesday, said that Iran will not give the black box of the crashed Ukrainian airliner to the planemaker.
However, Fani-Kayode in a tweet wrote: “Iranians were on the plane! So what? If you had any understanding of the concept of jihad and martyrdom you would know that sacrificing their own to achieve military or political. End is standard for these people. If the Iranians have nothing to hide they should release the black box!
“If it was “just an accident” then why are all western Airliners avoiding Iranian airspace after the “crash”? Get sense and know that terrible things happen in war and the innocent are often casualties. I put nothing past the Iranians. They are filled with hate and indulge in terror!”
