A Pro-Uzodinma match rocked Owerri, the Imo State capital, Monday, as the protesters lauded the Supreme Court of Nigeria over its recent verdict that affirmed Senator Hope Uzodinma as the duly elected Governor of Imo during the March 9 election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC).
The Imolites, who were chanting victory songs, marched to Welderal road, Douglas Road, Government House, among others.
This came as the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) directed its state chapters in the country to embark on peaceful protest over the outcome of the Imo governorship tussle.
On Sunday, Abia and Anambra State chapters of the PDP, embarked on protest and demanded the reversal of the Supreme Court judgment that sacked Hon. Emeka Ihedioha as governor of Imo State.

It described the decision of the supreme Court as miscarriage of justice.
However, the pro-Uzodinma match was carried out in support of the new governor, according to a participant, who pleaded anonymity when interviewed by newsmen on Monday.
DAILY POST recalls that the Supreme Court of Nigeria had last Tuesday, declared Uzodinma, the candidate of the APC in the 2019 governorship election as Imo Governor.
A seven-man panel of the apex court led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Muhammad, unanimously declared Hope Uzodinma as the winner of the March 9, 2019, governorship election and the validly elected governor of the state.
In the judgment read by Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, the judges unanimously agreed that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was wrong to have excluded some votes from the scores of Uzodinma.
