The Jigawa State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has issued three weeks ultimatum to all unregistered private guard companies and those operating with expired operational licenses.
This was contained in a press statement issued to DAILY POST and signed by command’s spokesperson.
The State Commandant Alhaji Garba Muhammad said the decision becomes imperative in order to provide reliable, efficient and dependable service delivery of safeguarding the lives and properties of people.
The command therefore warned all private guard companies operating in Jigawa state to register or renew their expired license before the deadline.
He added that all private guard companies must also have an operational offices in the State for proper monitoring, ease of operation and accessibility by clients and employees.
Garba said failure to abide by the command’s directive will lead to the permanent closure of the company.
He said the Command equally made it mandatory for all PGCs in the State to attend a training and retraining exercises to be organized periodically by the Private Guard Company Department at the State Command.
He stated that the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps Act 2007 as amended, empowered the Corps to monitor and supervise the activities of Private Guard Companies in Nigeria as stated in Section 3(1) subsection (b), (c) and (d) of the act.
