Since the death of Nollywood veteran and film maker, Frank Dallas Ebulukwu broke last night, thousands of colleagues, friends and fans are in shock and have been sending messages across various social media platform.
Frank Dallas alias the General reportedly died in his hotel room in Umuahia, Abia State on Wednesday, where he was attending a summit.
Lolo Oby Okafor, Vice President South East said: “What kind of world is this. Frank Dallas dead? I don’t want to believe it’s true. Am still waiting for him to come n know how we can move south east forwrd. You promised me that you are going to help me to make south east stand. Frank Dallas were are you? This is not our plan ooo. I don’t want to believe what am hearing”.
Rita Daniels, Regina Daniels mother said: “Terrible News! I Can’t still believe it’s true. My BABA RERE is gone”.
Notable actor and producer, Charles Inojie has described Dallas as “an effervescent spirit”. According to him, “Nollywood has lost a crowd in one man…Rest in peace bro”
Ify Okeke, Chief of Staff, National President of AGN, Mr. Emeka Rollas wrote: “ When the calls kept on coming in, I knew something was wrong but usuallym I refused to accept the in btw the lines odds, I felt something strange in her voice but I never want to assume till the news was broken to me, I didbt want to accept it even when others kept asking I was lost and still lost”.
Following Dallas sudden demise, the National President of AGN, Mr. Emeka Rollas, has declared three days of mourning and prayer in honour of the late actor. In a statement signed by the Guild’s Public Relation Officer, Monalisa Chinda-Coker, the president has cancelled all official activities of the guild at all levels for three days.
The statement reads in part: ‘With a heart full of sorrow, we announce the sudden death of the immediate past National PRO of GNU, Frank Dallas Ebulukwu. “The National President of AGN, Ejezie Emeka Rollas has declared 3 days of national mourning and prayers across all State Chapters including FCT Abuja.’ “In view of this, all official activities of the Guild at all levels are hereby cancelled for three days.” State Chapter Chairmen are instructed to open condolence register in his honour from Monday, 24/02/2020. Monthly meeting for February is dedicated to mourning and prayers. We shall be guided accordingly while we await further directives and burial arrangements from the family. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
Popularly known as “Adedibu” or “Killer” in movie circles, Dallas who started out as an actor in the 1990’s hails from Ohafia in Abia State was the former public relations officer of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Lagos chapter. Monalisa Chinda-Coker defeated him to emerge AGN national PRO in an election held in October last year.
Meanwhile the Lagos state chairman, AGN, Moji Oyetayo has opened a condolence register in honour of Frank Dallas at Ojez, National Stadium Surulere.
