Reno Omokri, former aide to ex-president, Goodluck Jonathan, has reacted to a viral video of an alleged attack on President Muhammadu Buhari in Kebbi State.
In the viral video, a young man could be seen trying to get through to Buhari but was prevented by security personnel.
But, the presidency in a statement by Femi Adesina, his Special Adviser on Media said Buhari was not attacked while on his visit to Kebbi to declare the Argungu Fishing and Cultural Festival open.
Giving account of what happened, Adesina wrote: “ Buhari went round the arena to inspect rice pyramids on display, and take photographs with farmers, a young man was so very excited to see his president so close.
“He made an attempt to get to him. World over, such would not be allowed by security details. The young man was prevented, and he protested that he should be allowed to greet his President. “
But, reacting, Omokri on his Twitter page said the incident shows that Nigerians are suffering and not happy with Buhari’s administration.
The former presidential aide wrote: “I thank God for sparing the life of General Buhari today in Argungu, Kebbi state but let this attack wake him up to the fact that Nigerians are not happy.
“Too much suffering in the land, traceable to his maladministration and incompetence. Nevertheless, I don’t wish him death.”
