As part of efforts to prevent the dreaded Coronavirus (COVI-19) disease, the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, has set up a 9-man committee that will ensure that the virus is kept at bay.
The committee, according to our correspondent, is chaired by Prof. Maurice Iwu, the former INEC chairman.
This, according to the Governor, was to forestall the the spread of the disease in the state.
Meanwhile, he has directed the Ministry of Health to activate all platforms including emergency response measures and enhance border surveillance to that effect.
Similarly, he asked that enlightenment of communities and distribution of hand sanitizers be extended to the rural areas as a matter of urgency.
However, he promised that the government will keep vigil to ensure that the virus does not find its way to the state, calling on Imo people not to entertain fear.
